But it doesn't work. The command 'make -f Makefile-Linux all' works until the mulberryinit section. The script ends with the following error: (cd ./Mulberry/Linux: ./links.ch; makemake) /bin/sh: makemake: command mot found make: *** [mulberryinit] Error 127 Is there a missing package with the makemake program? Or it is not possible to compile Mulberry on a PowerBook G4? I found the makemake.cpp file, but I can't compile this code. Could you give me further information please on how to build this package? Thanks in advance! I ask because I just acquired a shiny new MacBook Pro, and thought I'd give it a try. So I installed the Developer tools, downloaded the Makefile-MacOS top-level makefile, and did: make -f Makefile-MacOS all After a long while of downloading, inflating, patching, compiling, etc. the build ultimately failed. Before I start digging too deeply into this, I thought I'd see whether anyone else had run into this -- the initial error that I see in the 1700 lines of output once things started to compile is: /usr/local/src/Mulberry/Plug-ins/PluginLibrary/../../../Libraries/MoreFilesX/MoreFilesX.h:1520: error: declaration of C function ?OSErr FSVolumeMount(const void*, FSVolumeRefNum*)? conflicts with /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Headers/Files.h:7299: error: previous declaration ?OSStatus FSVolumeMount(UInt8*, FSVolumeRefNum*)? here and ultimately, I think that the PluginLibrary doesn't get built, which breaks all sorts of things later on. Try doing it from within XCode instead. There should be an MulberryXcode.xcodeproj that you can open. > Before I start digging too deeply into this, I thought I'd see whether > anyone else had run into this -- the initial error that I see in the 1700 > lines of output once things started to compile is: > > /usr/local/src/Mulberry/Plug-ins/PluginLibrary/../../../Libraries/MoreFil > esX/MoreFilesX.h:1520: error: declaration of C function ?OSErr > FSVolumeMount(const void*, FSVolumeRefNum*)? conflicts with > /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/CarbonCore.f > ramework/Headers/Files.h:7299: error: previous declaration ?OSStatus > FSVolumeMount(UInt8*, FSVolumeRefNum*)? here I don't recall having seen that. So I just re-grabbed the top-level makefile, and this time just did: make -f Makefile-MacOS init to download everything, then fired up XCode on the Mulberry->MacOS->MulberryXcode.xcodeproj XCode project, and clicked Build. It failed quite quickly, with two errors, one for MulberryBits.r and one for MulberryAE.r. The error was: SysError 0 during open of "RsrcTypes.r" I'm far from an XCode wizzard, so this is probably something that's easy to fix, but I'd appreciate any pointers. -- Steve Burling University of Michigan, ICPSR Voice: +1 734 615.3779 330 Packard Street FAX: +1 734 647.8700 Ann Arbor, MI 48104-2910 From srb at umich.edu Fri Mar 7 11:23:03 2008 From: srb at umich.edu (Steve Burling) Date: Fri, 07 Mar 2008 11:23:03 -0500 Subject: [Mulberry-dev] Buidling for Mac OS X In-Reply-To: <3DA37E729152C49C35E800D8@srb.icpsr.umich.edu> References: <2F051137C9083E3337315E6F@srb.icpsr.umich.edu> <3DA37E729152C49C35E800D8@srb.icpsr.umich.edu> Message-ID: --On March 7, 2008 11:00:53 AM -0500 Steve Burling wrote: > So I just re-grabbed the top-level makefile, and this time just did: > > make -f Makefile-MacOS init > > to download everything, then fired up XCode on the > > Mulberry->MacOS->MulberryXcode.xcodeproj > > XCode project, and clicked Build. To which I reply: I updated those two files so that the include was: #include "Resources/RsrcTypes.r" rather than #include "RsrcTypes.r" and now the build is chugging along.
