Have you managed to get any email down from the server? Thanks for your answer. Yes, I have no problems receiving mail. Furthermore, Mulberry has started crashing during many other operation, e.g., when I closed the outgoing queue (which was rebuilt and four old, already sent, messages reappeared). I get the impression that Mulberry crash whenever it needs to do something with the mailbox index. I really appreciate some further assistance in this mattter. Then nothing happens until I double-click on the INBOX and the rest of my mail folders appear in the list and the INBOX opens, which it is set to do on login. Just started using 4.08; have used 3.12 without problem for years. Output from the error log > looks like this: Errors like this typically look like problems with the server. One or more of the messages you are scrolling into view is causing the server a problem and it is disconnecting. If you have control over the server and the server maintains indexes for the mailboxes, trying forcing a rebuild of those indexes using server tools. If you can't do that, try copying all the messages from a problem mailbox into a new mailbox, then see if you can open the new mailbox. -- Cyrus Daboo From iane at sussex.ac.uk Thu Aug 28 09:59:24 2008 From: iane at sussex.ac.uk (Ian Eiloart) Date: Thu, 28 Aug 2008 14:59:24 +0100 Subject: [Mulberry-discuss] More crashes, now on a Mac In-Reply-To: <1D79F70EA767E9463CA6270A@socrates-2.local> References: <27D2C4A0B5256F505AFB327B@c80-216-44-178.bredband.comhem.se> <1D79F70EA767E9463CA6270A@socrates-2.local> Message-ID: <71BC047673A8AC918E60818C@glynde.staff.uscs.susx.ac.uk> --On 28 August 2008 09:39:31 -0400 Cyrus Daboo wrote: > Hi david, > > --On August 27, 2008 7:41:49 PM +0200 david wrote: > >> When I scroll backwards 1 or 2 screens, or search and find mail 1-2 >> screen up, in some of my mailboxes residing on a UW-IMAP server >> Mac-Mulberry spontaneously closes the mailbox. But, UW-IMAP doesn't do indexing, and doesn't have server tools. :( -- Ian Eiloart IT Services, University of Sussex x3148 From daboo at mulberrymail.com Thu Aug 28 10:15:48 2008 From: daboo at mulberrymail.com (Cyrus Daboo) Date: Thu, 28 Aug 2008 10:15:48 -0400 Subject: [Mulberry-discuss] More crashes, now on a Mac In-Reply-To: <71BC047673A8AC918E60818C@glynde.staff.uscs.susx.ac.uk> References: <27D2C4A0B5256F505AFB327B@c80-216-44-178.bredband.comhem.se> <1D79F70EA767E9463CA6270A@socrates-2.local> <71BC047673A8AC918E60818C@glynde.staff.uscs.susx.ac.uk> Message-ID: Hi Ian, --On August 28, 2008 2:59:24 PM +0100 Ian Eiloart wrote: >> Errors like this typically look like problems with the server. There should be instructions with the server describing those new formats and how to "fix" issues. -- Cyrus Daboo
